ReyBrowse Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026

ReyBrowse is a privacy-first web browser built by 402 Labs. Our policy is simple: we do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs in the app.

What we collect

Nothing. ReyBrowse has no servers of its own and never sends your data to us. The app's Apple privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking, and the App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected."

What stays on your device

Everything ReyBrowse remembers is stored locally on your iPhone:

  • Browsing history — kept on-device and automatically deleted after 30 days. Never recorded for private tabs. You can clear it at any time.
  • Tabs, bookmarks, and downloads — stored on-device only.
  • Settings — stored on-device only.
  • Encrypted media vault — photos and videos you save to the vault are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key lives only in your device's Secure Enclave-protected Keychain and never leaves your device. Vault contents are excluded from device backups.
  • Search suggestions, Spotlight indexing, and Siri shortcuts — powered by on-device indexes of your local bookmarks and history.

Some of this local data (bookmarks, history, settings — but not the vault) may be included in your own encrypted device backups managed by Apple, under your control.

Face ID / Touch ID

App locking and vault access use Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Your biometric data is handled entirely by iOS — ReyBrowse never sees it; the app only receives a success or failure result.

On-device AI

Page summaries, questions and answers, Reader Mode, and data extraction run entirely on your device using Apple's on-device models. Page content processed by these features is never uploaded anywhere.

Network connections the app makes

ReyBrowse is a browser, so it connects to the internet on your behalf:

  • Websites you visit receive your requests directly, as with any browser. ReyBrowse's built-in protections block known third-party trackers and ads, strip common tracking parameters from links, and resist browser fingerprinting.
  • Your chosen search engine (Google by default; configurable) receives the queries you type. Its own privacy policy applies to those queries.
  • Site icons (favicons) are fetched from the websites you visit for display in tabs and bookmarks.
  • Tracker blocklist updates are downloaded about once a day from easylist.to (the EasyPrivacy list). This is a plain file download; no information about you or your browsing is sent with it.

Private browsing

Private tabs use isolated, ephemeral storage. Nothing from a private tab is written to history, and its cookies and site data are discarded when the tab closes.

Children

ReyBrowse does not collect data from anyone, including children. As a general-purpose browser, it can access the open web and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If our practices ever change, we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change takes effect. Because the app collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare.
